"ELEGANTLY RUSTIC LAKEFRONT CABINS ON QUIET LAKE COLBY"
Season June 1st thru October 31st.
THINGS TO DO
The Adirondacks offer so much for everyone. In the Spring
and Summer there is hiking, fishing, biking, rock climbing, golf,
horseback riding, nature walks, canoeing, boating, swimming, white
water rafting. In the Fall and Winter there are nature walks through
magnificent woodlands when the leaves are changing, hunting, downhill
skiing, cross country skiing, ice climbing, snowmobiling, skating,
sleigh riding. Its endless what you can do here in the Adirondack
Mountains. Beside all these sports, there are many area events
going on.
Spend the afternoon canoeing on beautiful Lake Colby
We know Spring is here, when even our beautiful north country is warming up. Everything seems to be starting anew. Check out
the Adirondack Museum and it's spring and summer programs, Lake Colby Ice Fishing Derby in March, Father's Day Fishing Derby
in June, the annual Can-Am Hockey Tournament in April take one of the Adirondack Park Visitors Interpretive center 's "Guided
Walks", and just enjoy this amazing time of year.
A visit to the Olympic Venues should not be passed up. The Olympic
Ski Jumping Complex will dazzle you with year round ski jumping
and the incredible freestyle performances. For a truly breathtaking
view, ride the chair lift and elevator to the top, and see the
Adirondacks as you have never seen them before. During December
and March, try a tube ride down the outrun at the base of the
jumps. Of course, what would the 4th of July be without fireworks.
Well, you won't be disappointed. There are fireworks demonstrations
in any one of the many towns and villages in the area. Check
out beautiful Lake Flower in Saranac Lake. There are as many
spectators in boats as are on the ground.
If you lean more towards active participation, rather than observation,
try out the new downhill mountain biking trails at Whiteface
Mountain. There are rentals available at the Base Lodge, and
trails for intermediate to "crazy". Weather and special events
may affect the operating hours, so it is a good idea to call
ahead. In August be sure to make time for the second annual
Whiteface Mountain Native American Festival. Music, crafts,
storytelling, and more make for a truly memorable weekend.
It would be impossible to list everything there is to do in
this beautiful area. If history is your game, visit any one
of a number of historic "Great Camps". These beautiful homes
will surely bring a bit of Adirondack nostalgia to you. The
Olympic center in Lake Placid is busy throughout the year, with
ice-skating competitions, both amateur and professional. Whatever
your choice, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!!
